I'm Not Even Supposed To Be Here Today!!

Gah!

Someone decided to kick our front door in at approx. 2.30am this morning. Apparently they didn't decide to take anything straight away, but came back about 10 minutes later to attempt entry.

Thankfully, by this point me and a housemate had woken up (me by the noise that sounded like an explosion - this must be a noisiest burglary attempted). He scarpered when he realised he was trying to break into an occupied house.

There had been a frantic knocking on the door about 15 minutes before the actual break-in, which is so weird. That actually woke me up and so I was only half asleep when the big noise came.

Three of my housemates are still asleep!

Nothing was stolen (which seems odd, as my camera bag and ipod were well within grab-and-run distance) and the police were fantastic when they did eventually arrive (to be fair it's a friday night, so we weren't expecting them any earlier!).

Great way to start the weekend, eh?

How are you?

Gatecrashed

Bye bye Gatecrasher.

Am I the only one to ponder the irony that it's burning down a fortnight before the smoking ban?

Summer choooooooonz

Hello all.

Reports of my demise have, as usual, been greatly exaggerated. I've not been out to the Nelson in a while, but then I haven't been anywhere in a while! I'm generally either working, or just too tired from working to make it anywhere and be in a sociable mood. I'm sure I'll be out again sooner or later....

But anyway, as the weather is turning much nicer, and inspired by hearing it randomly in the Element Store on Times Square (Was in NY last week - photos here), I've decided on my ultimate summertime muzack.

Interested? It's here...

In NY....

It would appear that the cinema a few blocks up from the YMCA is showing 300 on IMAX.

Oh yes. Oh yes yes yes yes......

Tomorrow brings photos and much walking. Thankfully not in a heatwave this time!

Applause

One of these days I'll post a proper update...

But for now, there appears to be one of these sitting in my living room.

And it's really rather swish.

(24 months interest free credit... it's the only way I could afford it!)

Has anyone noticed how hard it is to get a new CRT television? And the price difference just isn't worth it!

It's a good thing I'm not claustrophobic!

The lift in the Workstation broke down today, whilst I was inside. It's not like the movies, either. I was rather disappointed! Also, they had to take the lift down to the ground floor to open it, and so I actually ended up having to walk up *more* flights of stairs than if I'd just avoided taking the lift in the first place.

Still, the good news.

I have my own flat. It has damp in places and a has a few down points, and i'm rather lonely a lot of the time, but it's my space, and I can damn well do what I want with it! Mwahaha!

I'm sure I'll miss living with other people at some point, but this just means I don't have to eat my dinner in my bedroom on a Wednesday night. Wednesdays being the day I work 9-7.30 and just want to crash out on the sofa watching TV when I get home, and not have to avoid hordes of smelly Role Players!

Everything's coming up Millhouse.

Hates

I shall end this year and begin the next

In a place I once escaped from.

Tonight I shall be in Middlesbrough. Classy, I know. Bit last minute but I felt I needed a breather from Sheffield for a while.

Poss see some of you tonight.

Otherwise, Happy New Year!

So it's almost the end of another glorious year....

This year has been... Different. I've now been back from uni for longer than I was *at* uni, which is a tremendously weird feeling and I don't like it at all. It's almost 3 years since I was "let go" from the South Sea and began my "getting fired" streak of three in a row.

Which was nice.

It's also three years since I had a girlfriend, or any kind of relationship that lasted longer than 4 days or 2 failed dates. It's kind've depressing and no matter how hard I try to ignore it it just feels like a gaping hole in my life.

Mostly it's compounded by all my friends finding partners and being invited to their weddings, and there's also the fact I have the most gorgeousest niece in the whole world EVARRR...

(Ladies, you may squee at this point)

Who, despite being a little madam sometimes, has made my brother and sister in law so very happy. I'm reaching the point where some stability might be nice, and the whole long-term thing is looking rather attractive.

On the plus side I still have possibly the best job ever. While it's not without its frustrations, headaches and incredible lows, I still get to pretty much control my working environment, my hours and (in theory) what I'm paid. Working alone can be, well, lonely so I'm glad I have a client I work in-house for, even if they can be a bit miserable at times.

All I ask of 2007 is a little more stability, a little less weight, and possibly someone nice. So, yes, the moon on a stick.
